It's the weekend and your aged parents are visiting from out of town. They have graciously allowed you to sleep in, but now its 11am and everyone's hungry. Assuming you're not prepared to do the cooking yourself, what can you do? All the brunch spots are packed and have hour-long waits. Julia's in Wallingford is no exception, but they do have something that sets them apart: their bakery. Are you going to make your feeble progenitors stand around on the sidewalk outside some other place for an hour? What kind of offspring are you? Go to Julia's, put your name on the list, and have a proper seat in the bakery, where you and your parents can begin scratching your coffee itches and maybe have a scrumptious pastry (I like the bran and ""morning glory"" muffins) or two. When your name makes it to the top of the list, the host will come looking for you in the bakery, and you can bring your coffee mugs with you to your table for free refills. As for the breakfast itself, I like the Desayuno Burrito with black beans substituted for the potatoes. To avoid clogging their ancient tickers any more, the 'rents can have their omelets or scrambles made with low-cholesterol egg substitutes, too. Then you can negate any healthy choices you made for the main course by having a slice of delicious coffee cake at the end.
Pros: love it
