I have been getting my hair highlighted for most of my life. i am a natural blonde and am very careful to keep my hair looking natural. I think its worth it to go spend top dollar for the right hair color. I just moved to Miami, away from my beloved colorist in New York. In a pinch, I decided to book a color appt. at Gustavo Briand. Everyone was so sweet at the salon. i felt right at home and within minutes of being in the salon, I could see it being my new home! i got my hair colored and blown out and it looked ok, but there wasnt that wow factor I usually have after getting my color. At any rate, I lpaid and left without a word. It was later that I got home and realized that the color was applied about a centimeter from my scalp. This is why I wasnt pleased in the salon. A blow dry can hide this a litttle bit on blondes, but the next day it was apparent. the color i had just gotten, and paid $200.00 for looked like i had gotten it done weeks ago. On top of this, after my wash in the salon, the stylist proceeded to pull the brush through my long strands with force starting at the top, or midway and breaking everything in his path. i kept flinching unintentionally because i felt like my hair was being man handled. Now, i have these broken hairs all over my head. I am a blonde, as i mentioned, so light really picks up these broken pieces. Finally, the icing on the cake, another stylist asked if i would do her a favor and sit for her while she applied eye lash extensions on me. She was new to it and wanted to try on a human. I said I had a girlfriend that would be interested. i gave my friend the salons number and she called. The stylist took back everything she said and wanted to charge my friend full price! Even though she was in training. At this point I was done with the salon. Back to trying to find the right colorist. Maybe Oribe.
Its really too bad because I genuinely liked everyone at Gustavo until I actually got in the chair.
Pros: great styling, blowout
Cons: color
