Worst excuse for utility company EVER 5/21/2010

Lost power for 9 days back in 2009 - their response - let's raise rates to pay for their misuse of $ - not repairing and upgrading equipment for years to add to their exorbitant profits resulted in this extended time with no power. 2010 - terrible economy, everyone I know struggling to make ends meet, including us. We've had a lot of additional medical bills these last two years and are still trying our best to keep our bills paid and heads above water and what does our wonderful DP&L do to us? Because we were late - DAYS late mind you - two times, they charged us a ""deposit"" - this is not stated ANYWHERE on their bills that you can be charged a deposit if you are late twice - JERKS. Consequently, because they took the ""deposit"" from my payment, the entire amount owed wasn't paid. Received a disconnect notice a few days later demanding yet MORE money or my power would be shut off in less than two weeks! This is the absolute worst company I've ever had to deal with. I truly hope I live to see the day where these jerks get competition. I'll gladly pay MORE for my electric just for the privilege of taking money away from DP&L.
