Where do they find their employees? 5/3/2010

I received a call from an african american man who sounded extremely ghetto on the phone. He wanted to schedule a time to meet with us to arrange my mother's funeral plans. Aside from his grammar, everything seemed ok so we scheduled a time to come to the place. As soon as we got there, we waited while he stood and talked to someone in the lobby, laughing and carrying on as if he was in a mall rather than a funeral parlor. We still tried to give him a chance. Once we got into the severely outdated looking "conference room" we were subjected to the most unpolished and incompetent attitude I've ever seen from someone. He's one of the best- and he will be the first to tell you. After about 10 minutes, we asked to speak with a manager and he claimed he was the funeral home's regional manager and was actually thinking about purchasing the funeral home. I didn't see a for sale sign out in the front, nor did I feel like I could listen to this load of garbage coming from this idiot's mouth. We immediately called another funeral home that we should have gone to in the first place. They picked mother up from the hospital and arranged a highly polished service and the director was one of the most well spoken people I've met in Columbia. Thank God that we did not let Greenlawn and their employees get their hands on mom's body, no telling what could have happened. One star- due to the fact that this funeral home (I'm thinking it is a corporate funeral home) seems to have no interest in hiring employees who have the ability to complete a sentence successfully. Pros: transparent idiot was easy to see through Cons: everything- don't use this place more
