It outlasted all the imitators, Whiskey, Wild West, and others who tried but never got the Austin's magic. Regarding the Whiskey in the previous post; it was too big, Austins was big enough without seeming like a mall.
There were only about three bands, really good ones, who played at Austins during the last ten years and having the same band every weekend along with the GREAT people who ran and worked there made it like a home away from home for me.
Pros: Probably the best overall nightclub in Mobile's history
Cons: Now closed - Austin passed away & building sold
