Saturday March 6th was my wife’s 33rd birthday party .I called String’ s and asked if they could accommodate a reservation for 20? I was told that it would be an hour or so wait. I agreed and called my party .We had people drive form all over Denver, Highlands Ranch, and Castle Pines. My wife and I personally drove in from Castle Pines a 40min drive. When I arrived I was told by the same person that I had spoken to on the telephone an hour before that String’s would not be able to host our party. I even included my telephone number. The staff was so incompetent and non apologetic that my phone number was written down wrong. Immediately she was to blame me for giving my own number wrong. I asked to speak with the manager and was told that “this situation had been discussed with one of the owners and that he did not have time for it” So while sitting at the bar trying to make sense of this awkward and embarrassing situation. What was I to do? 20 people at a venue that I set up for my wife’s Birthday. I was at the bar having a drink telling the group what was going on .While the bartender was ease dropping. She overheard that we were executives and attorneys at a fortune 500 company in Denver. The same owner that was to busy to discuss the situation came over and amazingly there was a table ready for us. Needless to say we did not give them our business. I feel that String’s has the worst customer service that I have ever experienced. How has this restaurant made it this far? These older generations need to realize that our blue jeans cost more that their suits there days. So don’t judge us! We went to Elway’s downtown and we had a great time. Strings surely can use some lessons from the wonderful staff at Elway’s. I would only recommend this “Denver Mile Stone” only if you want to be embarrassed and to have your night ruined.
