it is a no brainer. your first stop ever in san antonio has to be the alamo. there is so much history and significance there that you have to visit it at least once in life. you cant help but to be in awe in a place like that.
do not expect to park in a blocks' distance from the alamo. parking can be a hassle in downtown in general since the streets are so narrow. so be prepared to park and walk.
and also visit the vistor's center right across the street from the alamo. they have valuable coupons and maps and great information that will help you get around town.
