We have a 2003 Mazda MPV with about 70,000 miles on it. The check engine light started coming on last January. We took it to Midas, and they told us the oxygen sensor needed to be replaced. They charged us almost $300 for the part alone and $200 for labor. Not long after that, the check engine light came on AGAIN. We ended up replacing several different parts over several months, paying hundreds of dollars total. And the check engine light STILL came back on. Finally we made a friend who is also an honest mechanic. He found that another oxygen sensor needed to be replaced (this is a common MPV problem), but it only cost him $50-60 for the part, compared to the $300 Midas charged! And we also took it to the dealership, where they found that the catalytic convertor also needed to be replaced (thankfully it happened to be under warranty). Finally, after more than a year, our check engine light is off and our car is fixed. I never thought I would say this, but we should've taken it to the dealership in the first place, because they were a lot more competent than Midas!\r \r I have never written a review on a business before, but this one had to be written. I wish I had the guts to report them to the Better Business Bureau. They are dishonest and extremely incompetent. Cons: overcharged by hundreds$$, incompetent more
