I've been having issues with the remote key for my car and managed to break the lock when it was freeeeeezing cold last winter. I live in the city and park at a garage so it hasn't really been an issue since I haven't been using it much lately but finally decided to take care of it today. I had changed the battery in the key but wasn't aware that it had to be reprogrammed for the car. I printed out instructions and tried it and nothing worked. I was in the area so I called and they said to drop by. 2 different guys tried to get it to work and both came to the conclusion that the key and the lock were both busted and just to get a new key and replace the lock. Then one of the mechanics (Doug) came out and wanted to give it a try. He did the exact same thing as the other 2 but then thought that maybe it was a fuse and not the key. He opened the trunk, took a fuse out, came back with a new fuse and like magic, everything worked! He got creative and was able to fix the problem for me and was so helpful and nice. I really appreciated him going the extra mile and taking care of this. I read really bad reviews about the shop in Manhattan, and I'm really glad I waited to go to NJ because I don't think anyone else would have figured it out.
It might not seem like a big deal since it wasn't a true mechanical issue, but Doug made a super annoying problem go away and made my life so much easier! And I can lock the car again!
