Possibly one of the worst lawyers in Brunswick. He did not listen to what I wanted to say and usually dominated any conversation I had with him. I called his office several times seeking updates and/or information about my case, and it would take him several days to return my phone calls. When Mr. Lakin did return my calls, he typically would start by scolding and stating that I was making his job difficult. His secretary (not paralegal), Robin, was unprofessional and lacked phone etiquette. It came to the point that she made me feel like I was burdening her with my calls. It took him several weeks to do anything on my case, even though I provided him with all of the requested information on my initial visit. His lack of communication began to weigh on me and I began seeking advice from other attorneys in the area. I really felt like he just took my money and then did not care about helping me. I should have realized that he was not a good attorney when he was late 30 minutes for my initial consultation and then late again 45 minutes when I finally decided to retain him. I strongly discourage anybody from considering hiring him.
