I never intended to use an interior designer, I thought I could do it myself after watching HGTV for years. After creating a hodge-podge disaster of our 7000 sq. ft. house, I decided I needed help. I interviewed several design firms and was turned off by all. I wondered into Ethan Allen on BelRed Rd. after seeing a commercial for designer services. I was so impressed with the designer I met (Olivia). she was professional and she insisted I set an ""investment plan"" as she put it in order to keep costs under control. After spending over $100K on crap from other stores that I now have to get rid of, this was music to my ears! She had a plan and did a powerpoint presentation, which my husband loved. We went ahead and let them do the whole house and we are thrilled. I always thought of Ethan allen as my mother's furniture, but they are really up to date-my house looks more like elle Decor than ""grandma's house"". We love the custom drapery, the rugs, the chandelier and the big, comfy leather sectional. it cost more than my first car but it's worth it.
