My husband and I took our two children to Al Carbon tonight, with high hopes for a good meal in an offbeat setting. Things started slowly, as we expected. We received drinks, then home-cooked chips and guacamole. The promised "really hot" salsa never appeared. My daughter received her steak quesadilla, but that was the last food we saw. We were there for 90 minutes, but despite frenetic activity in the kitchen, we never saw a sign of the burger we ordered for my son (the only non-traditional food we ordered, and it WAS on the menu), the Arepas, the chicken soup recommended by the waiter, the Cazuela de Calabacines, or the Carne Asada. We were so hungry and the kids were frantic, so we put down money for what we received and left.
