Beware of Deceptive Practice to Add Insurance 3/4/2010

This problem happened when we were told to rent from Enterprise since this is the only rental car company my dealership deals with. My car was being repaired and I needed a rental car. Upon arriving at this location, Enterprise was told that no additional insurance is needed since my current car insurance covers a rental during car repair service. The insurance card for my current car insurance was even offered as proof. The manager for this location's name is Mike and he is completely dishonest. After a couple days, I received a charge on my credit card, which prompted me to call Mike. I don't know if this guy is even competent enough to be a manager, as he couldn't even find the rental record even after giving him the name the car was rented under and he asked to call me back. Anyway, Mike found the charge and said it was for two days' worth of car insurance. I said why would you add the insurance when you were specifically told it was not needed (By the way, another Enterprise location fooled us into singing-up for insurance and we were more aware to reinforce our option not to add insurance during this time). Mike's reasoning is you weren't there and your spouse should have known what was being signed. Basically, insisting that he has proof and the paperwork is a legal document showing that the insurance was accepted. Proof of what of how deceptive Enterprise could be? Why would a company try to deceive a consumer by allowing a person to sign for a coverage that was obviously not wanted or needed? That was a rhetorical question by the way. The point is Enterprise should be liable for their deceptive practices. Stay away from this location! If a manager such as Mike is leading by example, I am afraid of what the other workers are doing to make profit. Just an update of what happened. The Area Manager got involved and reversed the additional insurance billed on credit card. The Branch Manager Mike attempted to blame one of his other employees with name starting with M for his mistake, even after telling me previously that he wrote the contract per notes in system. There is definitely something going on as the Area Manager could not locate recent car rental record and had to issue credit based on previous rental record made six months ago. Unfortunately, we never received a receipt or copy of rental contract as the dealership returned car rental for us since we were going out of town and Enterprise was closed. Cons: Insurance Declined But Tricked To Accept more
