A stray cat 3/22/2010

We had a stray cat hanging around our house for about a week. We do TNR so we weren't surprised. The cat was small and we noticed it would go to the food bowl, look and not eat.It moved slow and appeared to have no energy. We couldn't catch it so we set a trap and caught it. None of the area vets would care for it because it was a stray.A TNR friend suggested we call Capricorn Cat Clinic. We were told to bring the cat in. Dr. Smullen ran tests on the cat then called us personally, to discuss the cats condition. The cat was older and had advanced liver disease. She gave us the options available and let us decide what to do. Since we had no idea who or if the cat had a caregiver, we paid to have the cat put down.\r Capricorn Cat Clinic is really a cat friendly place. There were several "resident" cats that welcomed us. There were water bowls and dry food for the resident cats and they all looked comfortable and happy. The staff was very nice and pleasant to us. more
