WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER! 3/5/2010

We bought about $5,000 worth of appliance in January from Standard. When one of the ovens (for a rental) was delivered, both handles were broken. We did not see this until later, since the remodeled kitchen was not quite ready for the oven to be installed. I called our sales person and she said she would handle it. A week later, after hearing nothing back, I called her again. She said I would hear something in the next day. Again, a week later I called again saying I've heard nothing. So, I called and asked to speak to someone in customer service or a manager. The receptionist was extremely rude. After transferring me to the installation department, I called back and asked to speak to the manager. I explained the situation and he told me that there was nothing Standard could do because they had a ""policy"". I said, ""You delivered a faulty product to my home and now you want me to pay a restock fee to have the oven replaced?"" After a 20 minute conversation on how poor their customer service is and how I could not believe how they were handling the situation, KJ (the manager) said that if the company wanted to replace the oven, then they could. But, Standard would not. The best they could do is have the handles shipped to our home and installed. (By the way, there is no way to reinstall the broken handles without taking the entire oven apart, which is why we wanted it replaced). These guys are RIDICULOUS and I cannot believe in today's economy this is how they choose to behave with the few customers who remain out there. Pros: Nothing Cons: Don't expect any kind of customer service when you need it more
