I bought a puppy from him back in December. First off, I should have realized he wasn't the best breeder because he was letting the puppies leave before 8 weeks old. Second, the puppies ate, played, slept and went to the bathroom in the same area, nothing was sectioned off. I went against my better judgement because I fell in love. Everything seemed in order, the puppy had been dewormed, the contract seemed legit, plus I was assured that if there were any problems, he would be available for anything. I took my puppy to my own vet and he had Coccidia and Giardia. In the contract, parasites are not covered but under NY State law any contagious disease is. Since Giardia can be transferred to humans, I called this breeder to pay for the medicine and testing of the stool. He told me he wouldn't and to just bring the dog back so he could resell him to someone else. He also has an obligation to tell the other buyers that one of the dogs from the litter had Giardia and to double check their dog (if untreated, it could lead to death). He said he wouldn't because they all got back to him and said they tested negative for everything. My vet and the breeder's vet both agreed that if one dog from the litter has it, then they all have it. The breeder said that every dog he sold plus the EIGHTEEN (unsanitary) that live with him all tested negative. His vet agreed with my vet that Giardia is hard to detect and doesn't show up in every stool sample. After I threatened him that I would report him, he finally sent me a check for the medicine and stool testing. He told me he would change his policies to make the customer happy. I was glad to hear that and said I would let him know how the test results are when I retest my dog. I told him there was a chance that it wouldn't clear up and he would need another round of medicine and I would send him the receipt for that and another stool testing. He knew all of this and I have emails as proof. When my dog got retested, he was still positive for Giardia, so I paid for the medicine and scanned over a copy of the receipt to the breeder. I didn't hear back from him. After a week, I called him and no answer. I emailed him and got a response back a day later. Apparently he wanted me to take my dog back to him and he'll treat him. When my dog is cleared of Giardia, I would get him back. ABSOLUTELY NOT! He is not a vet, why would I take my dog back to him? If he wanted a second opinion from his own vet, I would have gladly done that but he decided to tell me AFTER I paid for the medicine. So still no refund and no responses back. He won't answer my calls or emails. Now I will warn every buyer about him. Stay away!!! He doesn't keep to his word. Having that many dogs under one roof is unsanitary, no wonder why they have parasites when you buy from him.\r

On top of this, my dog has very small nostrils. It's hard for him to breathe. This is a genetic defect not a cosmetic abnormality, which he does not cover. My vet is hoping that they get larger over time but if not, he'll need surgery. If he doesn't have the surgery he'll have trouble breathing his whole life and would be forced to not exercise, play, jump around etc. I doubt I'll ever see a refund on this.
