BEST
INDIAN
FOOD
EVER.
We have been here one time for lunch and the buffet was unbelievably great and tonight we thought that we would try their al a cart night time menu. Poonam, the nice lady owner, seated us and suggested that we get the dinner for two that includes a samosa for each, tandori chicken AND shrimp, lamb or chicken masala (mild curry unless otherwise requested), vegetable korma, fresh naan, basmati rice and desserts (oh MY!). The moment that you sit down you get papadams (think of them as tasty Indian chips) and a great cilantro/mint/pepper sauce (think of it as a not too spicy salsa) for a snack. When they offer to bring you more, just say no otherwise you will fill up on them instead of saving room for the other tasty goodies to come. The samosa is an almost greasless fried pyramid of potatoes, peas and spices that is served piping hot with a tamarind sauce (use the rest of the green cilantro sauce, or ask for more if you like a more spicy sauce) and is crazy good. As with the papadams, you will want another but must still save room for dinner. Dinner is served with PIPING hot, fresh out of the tandoor (big, hot ceramic oven that you have to kind of throw the bread onto the side of and take out...by HAND! OUCH!)naan, brushed with garlic butter. The tandoori shrimp and chicken are perfectly cooked and juicy, served on top of still crispy peppers and onions. The lamb curry (we got lamb instead of chicken) is the most tender I've ever had I could have drunk the sauce. Instead I dipped the remainder of my bread in it. It was fantastic. Vegetable dishes here are made of FRESH vegetables and while the sauce is unbelieveably great, you can still taste the veggies (a GOOD thing folks!). The basmati rice that is served with dinner has a wonderful flavor of its own and once the dinner is served with it, it's even better. If you can still eat dessert, the pistacio kulfi (homemade ice cream) and the rice pudding (I don't remember the correct name) are fantastic and that comes from someone who's not too wild about sweets. Now that you have had an overview of our meal, what you cannot quantify is the care with with the food is made. It is impossible to make food this good, served with this care in this beautiful of an atmosphere without having wonderful, kind, creative people behind it. They are here. It is definitely soul food, no matter where you come from. Please, if you have never before had Indian food, come here. If you have had Indian food before and thought it was just ok, come here. If you think you don't like Indian food, by all means COME HERE AND TRY IT - you'll like it! If you already love Indian food, still come here, you'll be as impressed as we were.
We love it and cannot wait to go back! Oh yes, and they serve beer and wine also! A nifty bonus!
Pros: food, service, parking
Cons: nothing!
