Recently, on a cold rainy day in Sacramento, I met up with a friend to sit down at Thai Mango. The lunch deal was very reasonable so we both sprang for it. I had the Pad Thai and my friend, the Drunken Noodles. The waiter was quick to get our orders in, serve us water, and deliver a small salad, that came with the lunch special. The salad was good, slathered in a peanut mayo dressing, but when the waiter took away our bowls he also took my friend's fork (they don't supply chopsticks unless requested). When the food came a few minutes later, my friend had no fork and had to get the waiter's attention to receive one. To the waiter's credit he apologized quickly, but forgetting to resupply tableware is a big mistake in my book. To the meal, my Pad Thai was a little sweeter than I am used to but delicious nonetheless. It should be noted that the temperature of the noodles was insane! I must have burnt my mouth at least three times trying to scarf down the deliciousness in front of me.
On separate occasions I have had perfect service, so I will cede that day's as a fluke. On previous luches I have ordered some of their curries, all of which were perfectly seasoned and had all aspects you want in Thai cuisine (sour, sweet, salty, spicy). Overall, if you are in the mood for some delicious, reasonably priced Thai food, look no further than Thai Mango.
Pros: Great noodles, terrific curry, and good salad.
Cons: Service can be lacking at times.
