I have been to Aristo's on two separate occasions and have had very poor experiences both times. Let me explain- Experience #1- My wife and I decided to try Aristo's before a movie on a Friday night. We found parking right out side and walked in the front door where we were greeted and subsequently seated. We were not given water or anything. We waited and asked the waiter that was serving a family next to us for a menu and water. He reluctantly gave us the menu and some water and we continued to wait. We sat and tried to make eye contact with a waiter. No one would give us the time of day. There were waiters sitting up front chatting with each other but no one seemed to have the time to serve us. So after sitting for at least 20 minutes being completely forgotten we got up and left the restaurant. That was irritating and we planned on not going back. Experience #2- We received a gift certificate to Aristo's and decided that was a good reason to give them another try. We went to the restaurant just before 6pm in the hopes that we would be there before they were to busy to forget about us. We were seated and ordered an excellent eggplant dish as a starter. We then ordered a clay pot dish that consisted of layers of veggies and cheese. As I began to eat some of the dish I noticed a bean sized black particle in food. I thought it might be a burnt piece of cheese but when I flipped it over I noticed it had legs. It was a beetle that had somehow made itself into my food. I politely called the waitress over and showed her the bug in a discreet manner and told her we were willing to pay for the and didn't really want a replacement dish. She said that was ok and took away our dishes and said she would come with the check. About five minutes later she came out carrying a small plate with a small piece of burnt rice and proceeded to tell us that what I had showed her we simply a burnt piece of rice. I asserted that what she was showing me was not the same thing that I had showed her. She quickly snapped back that she was just explaining that what I had showed her was rice and said she would take care of the bill. She gave us the bill and said thank you and as we walked to the door were surprised to have almost the entire staff of the restaurant standing behind the register staring at us like we had committed some sort of crime. I honestly wouldn't be that upset with the bug being in the food, I wouldn't eat it or pay for it, but I understand that bugs can make their way into even the cleanest of restaurants. However, what really put me off was the attitude of the staff at the restaurant, I tried to be civil and respectful but was treated more like a criminal than a concerned customer. Suffice it to say, I will never go there again and because of my experience I will probably go out of my way to tell other people not to go there. It has been said before, it doesn't matter how good the food is if the service is terrible.
Pros: Goodish food
Cons: Terrible service
