Didn't live up to my expectations 3/27/2010

My husband and I called Virginia Tile in Wood Dale to see if we needed an appointment to come in and talk with a designer to help with a new house we were building. They said we did not need an appointment and to just come on in. So, we went there on a Saturday and got there when they opened hoping to be able to spend some time with a designer to help us with multiple rooms (bathrooms, mud room, kitchen, etc). The lady there told us we just had to look around on our own and let her know if we had questions. Then, she proceeded to sit behind her computer and do who knows what while we stood there wondering why in the world she didn't want to help us! I mean REALLY?! We need tile for a whole house and they didn't want to help us?! After we looked around for about 20 minutes another guy who was there (ended up he was a rep from a tile company) he actually started to help us and was really nice. So, we paid our deposit to take some samples and then went back in a few weeks later. Again, same woman was there and she didn't say one word to us the entire time we were there. Strange! Anyway, we ended up going to Hawkinson Tile in Elk Grove Village and they were so helpful! I'd highly recommend them! Just go to Virginia to get some ideas and then go somewhere else for better customer service and design!! ~ So, after I did this review a lady from the corp. office of Virginia Tile called me to talk about my experience. That was very nice of them to at least care enough to contact me. I've been back in a couple times and they have been much more helpful. Maybe they were just have a bad week or something the first couple times I was there. It happens! Pros: Good selection to look at Cons: Not very helpful more
