I have been to other local Hard Times in the past, but a recent meal at the Hard Times in Bethesda was one of the worst meals I have ever had. The 5-way chili was served over watery, tasteless spaghetti. The child's hamburger was a clearly frozen, 1/4-in. thick patty that was completely unappetizing when cooked. The fries were not even good - they were undercooked, limp, and greasy. Although the place was not busy, service was slow, and it was excessively loud from all the TVs - it was hard to even talk over the tv noise. After we left my 6-year-old said he knows why it's called "Hard Times" - because you have a hard time eating the food. At $20+ for one adult and child, this meal was a disaster.
