I took my Basset in for a few stitches on a weekend because he started a fight with a bigger dog and actually bit his own ear when it got in the way. They put an big e-collar on him which was a BIG waste, and ridiculous. He wasn't bothering the ear, he did need stitches only. BTW, they kept blaming the bigger dog. The bigger dog was much too smart for them to understand. He was just trying to hold the Basset Hound still (to keep from being bit) by HOLDING the COLLAR. They were not listening to me, but I saw it all as it happened.
