When our dog abruptly began bleeding profusely from her nose at 10 p.m. one night, our regular vet was not available and I found Blue Cross in the yellow pages. The vet was about to leave, but agreed to wait while we drove from across town. He saw our dog, diagnosed her and checked her out. He then had us wait about an hour while he did paper work, so that he could be sure things were under control. The total bill, including blood work, was just over $100. His diagnosis was that someone had put rat poison where she could get it. He handled our dog gently and seemed to know his stuff. I am grateful for the excellent care he provided. We have since seen him for other matters. The place is very busy, and the parking situation is humbug. This is a good place to know about.
