Thank you for inquiring about our studio! We have been in operation for over 20 years in the Tinley Park area. The studio is family owned and operated by Tonia Arthur-Zekas. Instructors are Ms. Yvonne, Ms. Tonia and Ms. Emily -- all have either danced or taught at Dancin' Feet Dance Studio. This means that you know your teacher, and your teacher knows you. We also have a personal touch for a growing business. The entire Arthur family has lived in and attended school in the local area. We also do business with the local merchants in town. The studio takes part in local performances as well as various activates in the area.
Our goal at Step Up Dance Academy is to provide an enjoyable atmosphere for your child so he/she will continue to pursue dance with us for many years to come. And it must be working because we have had over 100 students who have been with the studio for over 10 years.
We also believe that it is not what we have accomplished as dancers, but what we can have you accomplish as a dancer and as an individual.
1.Tap, Ballet, Jazz, Hip-hop, Pointe, Baton, Tumbling, Pom pons, & Lyrical, Competition classes, Production, Boy""s only, Adult""s only and TECHNIQUE/CONDITIONING.
2. Special classes -- 18 month olds, boys only, & adult classes.
3. We offer classes for beginners to the experienced dancer.
4. Classes run from 30 minutes up to and including four one hour classes.
5. Dance troupe classes are offered on your teacher's recommendation and are for students ages 5 and up.
6. There are also private classes offered for our competitive solos, duets, and trios.
Step Up Dance Academy is 2009 “TALENT ON PARADE” NATIONAL DANCE CHAMPS. They won six plaques, placed in the top ten of their overall categories with fifth place or better. Three of the girls were picked during a regional competition as a “TOP STARZ” DANCER. The three girls learned a dance and performed it at Nationals for a finale routine. They came home with 9 first place trophies and one top first place trophy and a 4-foot team award trophy. They also held their annual dance recital, performed at the business expo in Tinley Park, and marched in two parades.
