I went to University Cleaners to have two dresses slightly altered, and one of the dresses cleaned. The alteration work was deplorable. One dress simply needed the straps shortened and the bodice taken in. The seamstress simply sewed the darts deeper at the top of the bodice, leaving the waist line unchanged, the straps were pulled thought the loop and sewed back onto themselves at the top of the shoulder, they should have been shortened and sewed in the back not at the top of the shoulder. The second dress was only a very simple strap shortening as well; it was sewed in one tiny spot with part of the strap left loose to flap in the wind. A chalk spot on one of the dresses had been pointed out to be cleaned. It was forgotten about. I spoke to the owner about the issues, I left the one dress to be re-cleaned and the flapping shoulder strap secured, when i went to pick it up, the strap for the (purple) dress had been very sloppily sewed with red thread, the sewing lines wandered all around where they should have been and the color difference could be seem across the room. The chalk dust was not removed. I again brought this to the attention of the attendant who agreed the sewing job was unacceptable, she took my name, phone number and address with a promise that the owner would call me on the next business day. I have not yet received a call. I will not use this cleaner again for any reason. BEWARE!
