Good Product, Poor Installation Practices 2/2/2010

I interviewed several companies before choosing Energy Exteriors. They had the best price point, a high quality product and I was assured that the installation would be top notch. After we had two windows replaced I was able to feel strong drafts when the wind was blowing. I removed the interior trim and found large gaps with only backer rod and no caulking to block the draft. They had an installer call me after the problem was reported. He informed me that they don't caulk on the inside but he would come out and ""caulk on the inside if that's what you want me to do"" - his exasperation was clear. He then proceeded to list the days of the week and why he couldn't make it out that day or that he *might* be able to make it on this day. I told him to call me back when he knew when he'd be available. After not hearing back, I took care of the problems myself the following weekend. I never heard back from the installer or anyone else from Energy Exteriors until I received a sales call about a year later. A dissatisfied customer just to save the time and cost of using a tube of caulk?! I won't be purchasing anything further from them as I've lost all confidence that they will perform the installation in an acceptable manner. Pros: Windows are good Cons: Installation practices are poor and follow up was pitiful more
