Small Store, Nice Experience 12/7/2010

Koyama Shoten is a small Japanese grocery store that features a rotation of products from Japan. Some of the items tend to be on the expensive side (for example, specialty erasers and post-it notes going for $9.00 each), but a sizable number of products, like their miso soup packets, are not only reasonably priced but are difficult to find in other stores. This store also stands out in its treatment of non-Japanese shoppers. One is not made to feel as if they are not wanted if they come in and are not Japanese. I've never gotten a DVD from the store, but there are numerous DVDs and tapes available for those who wish to acquire them. I would recommend this store for people looking for more obscure Japanese products (they do rotate their products to serve their clientele) who would rather pick them up in a store than order them online. more
