My dog had surgery to remove a tumor several months ago, then the biopsy came back that he had an aggressive form of mast cell tumors. Weeks later, two more tumors were forming and after a long, happy life I made the decision to enjoy my dog until his quality of life was diminishing and from there I would make a decision to euthanize. I walked into Boulder Terrace a few weeks ago because my normal vet wasn't available. My dogs' condition was worsening; not eating, daily vomiting and extreme weakness. Dr. Hailer carefully examined my dog and as professionally and sympathetically as she could gave the painful news. My dog was in shock and was only going to live a day or two longer. Dr. Hailer provided me privacy to take a moment with my dog, call my family and ultimately make the decision to euthanize. She was reassuring, gentle and thoughtful throughout the whole process.
I could also tell that the staff felt for me and everyone was quite understanding. Days later I received a call that my dogs' paw print was set in a ceramic mold for me to remember my dog by. I give Dr. Hailer and the staff at Boulder Terrace my thanks and my recommendation to bring your pet to these people that universally love animals.
