I hope nobody has to experience what happened to me a few weeks ago. My cat was very lethargic, limping and obviously not feeling well. I brought him in to see Dr Gardner. The cat was taken out of his carrier quite roughly by the receptionist. He was complaining and obviously in pain. When Dr. Gardner examined him, he let out a yowl and was fighting to get away. Since he is such a mellow cat and has never done this before I was shocked. He obviously was hurting more than I realized. I told Dr. Gardner I had never seen him act like this before. Dr. Gardner's reply was ""Well, you have now"".. I was told the cat could not be examined unless he was sedated which would cost $350 or I could take him to a vet the cat liked better. It was as if I should not have brought in my animal for an examination if he didn't behave. I have never be treated like that before nor have I ever met a vet with that attitude. I was also told Dr Gardner routinely sedates cat sif he has to take their blood. I have had may cats in my lifetime and never run into this.
I'm sure there must be more compassionate and professional vets in Santa Clarit.
