I have been taking my dogs & cats to PVHC since I moved to CT 12 years ago. I think they are compassionate and knowledgeable. I have had to put down a senior dog and they were wonderful during the process of me trying to make that final decision. I have also had a few emergency type situations and they handled it with great professionalism. Last Sunday, my Golden Retriever, Grady, got into some rat poison and it was about 1/2 hour before they closed (yes they have Sat. & Sunday hours now) and they had me bring him right in. They called two poison control centers to make sure that they were doing the right thing and waited with him for over 2 hours after giving him meds. We finally were sent home around 4:00 (2 hours after closing) with explicit instructions. The Dr. even called me the next day to see how he was doing, which was great. This same dog ate a corn cob previous to this and through on-line discussions, we monitored him for possible blockage. So, I have nothing but goo
