I went in on the 18th of November. I found them to be very aggressive about payment. I mean seriously over the top aggressive. A woman came into my room in the ER and asked for payment before I was even treated. When I told her I was not even treated yet she left. Then the nurse told me that I would receive a bill in the mail and to just pay it then.Okay, sounds normal. I had a 75$ dollar co pay so I left and the next day I get a call from a private name private number. He said he was calling to take payment and if I did not pay they would send it to collections. Since it was a private number I told the man I would pay when I got a bill and I did not feel comfortable giving out my information over the phone to a private name and number. He said if I did not pay he would have to submit the claim to my insurance. I always thought they had to do that anyways? I told him I would happily pay. I called back to make sure it was the hospital that day to the billing department to pay the 1 day old bill and they could not even process the payment because I did not have an account number. THE BILLING DEPARTMENT TOLD ME TO WAIT UNTIL I GOT A BILL! They treated me like I was going to steal from them or something. I have pretty decent insurance too and they still treated me crappy. Usually it is the other way around, not that it should be. more
