This place is so awesome. If you have questions about dogs or cats, RUN- don't walk, to this store and ask for Sheri!
We walked into the shop a few years ago when we first noticed it opening up next to the Blockbuster Video that used to be in that complex.
We were greeted very warmly by the owners and their big Black Dog, Tucker. When we asked them how long they had been open, they told us we were their first customers! EVER! XD
We don't have dogs, only cats, so when we go into Black Dog I take all the time I can to play with Tucker and get my doggie time in-while my BF shops for our kitty food. Tucker always greets me with a toy in his mouth and a smile on his little (big) doggie lips!
Sheri is the greatest. She doesn't make you feel like crap if you can't afford the best raw or wholistic or whatever food for your animals. She will suggest things for you if you tell her your situation, tho.
We had a problem with one of our cats having ""bathroom"" issues, if you know what I mean. The vets put him on a rx diet (you know the kind). It did nothing.
Then we asked Sheri. She recommended some quality protein wet foods (and gave us tons to try out-he's a picky eater). We finally found one he LOVED and since eating it a couple times a day his problems have gotten SO MUCH BETTER! It was dramatic the change we saw in him.
Then we started to have hairball problems in a couple kitties. Again, we asked her what to do and she gave us a bottle of ""goo"" that I mix into their wet food and it's working GREAT!
I really put a lot of faith in what she tells us because I know she has a TON of experience with animals of all kinds. Both personal experience with her own animals, and I know she worked in the pet health care field for a time, as well.
Long story short, I don't know what we would do without this place. We consider Sheri and Tucker (and Xerox! And their Dad!) to be part of our (very large) family of animals and people! XD
So, thank you Black Dog for being there for us when we don't know where else to turn! Love you guys! ;0)
