Chamberlin Property Management - RENTER BEWARE! 11/26/2010

Chamberlin Property Management - RENTER BEWARE! Chamberlin Property Management has no problem spending your application fee money, pulling your AMAZING credit report and references, and then allowing several more applicants to waste their money and time applying just to see if they can manipulate an 18 month instead of 12 month lease out of you or someone else when they already have qualified applicants. When questioning this unethical and manipulative maneuver: ""Well we're not a first-come-first-served kind of a place..."" and he will ""at least give me a courtesy call to let me know that I didn't get it."" EXACT words. What?! What was he telling me now - that I exposed him/the company so now I am at the bottom of the list? After all of my effort, communication, and cost in applying? He also told me, ""Well, it's really a-typical that the first applicant to call in would have great credit such as yourself."" What?! So I am now at a disadvantage because I was the first caller? This is a really twisted way to do business. Forcing applicants to bid against each other like that is totally unethical when the first applicant had perfect credit/references. NO lease terms stated in advertisement, should have read, ?18 month lease preferred?. Essentially they switch the rules on applicants AFTER applying and PAYING! After reading other reviews on this property ?management? company, I can see this is just a taste of what else is to come. Gut says ?NO!? on any property managed by this company! Every other property management company I have ever dealt with works on first-come-first-served for QUALIFIED applicants; that is a BUSINESS STANDARD! What company wouldn't want to get the apartment rented as quickly as possible to a fantastic tenant who applied to a listing FIRST? This one apparently! They obviously look at 'renters' as second class citizens. People need to KNOW where they are going to live, not wait around for some shmoe poor-management company to jerk them around because they have the 'power' to do so. So off-putting, a very, very poorly handled transaction. Do your online research ? reviews are BAD. The good reviews look totally staged. Please contact the Better Business Bureau if you have had a similar unethical experience. more
