I went to Tranquil Waters because a friend recommended them to me. I made an appointment to get my nails done there (french mani) before my wedding. When I walked in I thought it was very serene in the lobby area. The receptionist was friendly, they offered me tea or water and was promptly taken to the nail tech. The nail tech was very friendly and even offered to clean my engagement ring while I was getting my manicure done. She was very friendly but she told me that she had forgotten her french manicure brush and hadnt done one free hand in years and was nervous because I was a bride, Overall, I was unsatified with the manicure. She filed my nails but they werent straight, the line on the tip looked very noticably crooked and the paint they use is organic ( which is nice ) but takes 4 hrs to dry completely ( which is inconvienant). I felt bad saying anything to the tech about not liking what she did because I felt bad for her. but the more I looked at it the more I hated it. The manicures there are not cheap either..I called to see if I could either get my money back or a portion of it because it looked so bad and it was my wedding..where I knew my hands would be photographed. The receptionist was very nice but said that the owner would call me back. She was very rude and never apologized and kind of tried to make it seem like I must have done something to ruin the manicure myself. Then she said "if it was really a problem" I could come back in the morning ( my wedding day). Needless to say, I didnt go.
The other thing that I did not like was at the end of the manicure when I went to pay the receptionist named off about 10 specials they were having and tried to pressure me into booking them. Then they tell you how much you owe and give you options of how you should tip from 20 percent to 40 percent. Which made me feel awkward that I was being told what I had to tip.
