The plumber came and quoted a price "by the job" rather than time and materials. I thought the prices were exorbitant. After I told him what we needed, he spent an hour looking for parts to repair a toilet, which you'd think he'd have with him. Then, after I told him the water was shut off, he spent 15 minutes outside the house looking for the shutoff. He fixed two toilets for nearly $300! Another plumber a few weeks later did a similar job for about $100. And Earl's will also try to sell you a membership to its club - which is nothing but a ripoff
