I made an appointment for this doctor in June and wish I had never stepped foot in his office. It was a routine freckle check. The PA (the doctor did not come in see me until much later in the appointment) did the entire exam and suggested to biopsy a freckle without consulting with the physician. I declined twice telling her that I had had it checked before and the previous doctor had said if it didn't change it was fine. She insisted and so I gave in. While she injected the lidocaine into my arm, I lost consciousness and fell. Unfortunately because I was not in the standard operating position (lying down or reclining) I fell 4 feet onto my forehead. When I was finally awake and in severe pain the PA (who had brought a nurse into the room) waited for me to inform her of where my phone was and call my husband myself (even though I had just received a massive concussion). They didn't consult my emergency medical form I had filled out prior to the appointment. After they lifted me onto the medical table the PA joked ""That's why we lay people down when we give the shots"". I was in terrible pain and my speech was slurred. I couldn't even think much less respond to her absurd comment. I finally met the doctor 10 minutes after my fall, where as you had probably heard he brings residents in, even though this was clearly a completely inappropriate time to have a resident shadow you on a patient in a potential severe condition. He proceeded to make light of the situation to my husband who had just arrived and tell us ""Guess we wont be seeing you again"". My husband took me to an ER because of a suspected skull fracture and brain bleed which can be fatal if unattended. This was absolutely the most traumatic experience I have ever been through. I could forgive it possible if he had agreed to pay my ER bills which are not huge. I feel as though I have suffered enough (four months later I am still dizzy with neck pain and recurring migraines) and shouldn't have to continue to pay for their negligence. Yes, they had no way to predict that I would faint, but that is why there are standard operating procedures and why they should be followed. They should accept responsibility and take it as a lesson learned. Instead I received a phone from Dr. Strobel informing me that ""he was not a responsible party"". Irresponsible for the lack of training of his PA and nonprofessional attention is correct.
