This restaurant is hands down the worst value in the entire tri valley. Incredibly low grade meat, incredibly poor management and staff and a disgusting dead animal smell in the lobby of the restaurant. All for the price of upwards 40 dollars a head. The food is neither authentically Japanese, nor does it attempt to be anything more than mediocre. This would be fine if this place was some dive where you pay 6.95 a plate, but they have the audacity to charge 30.00 minimum for a meal comprised of frozen shrimp, meat and vegetables that could not cost them more than 1.50 a head. Not only is the food terrible, there is an odor in the lobby that literally smells like an animal died in the walls. This is not an exaggeration or hyperbole, it literally smells like rotting flesh. Other reviews of this fine establishment also mention the smell.
Avoid this place like the plague, if you want decent teppanyaki in the tri valley check out Yanagi over in Dublin, or better yet head over to somewhere in the East Bay or San Francisco.
