I went to David to sell an old diamond and ruby bracelet this week I had inherited from my aunt, and had a great experience I thought I would share. I was referred to David by a friend who had sold him some of their jewelry. When I met David he was cordial and relaxed. I showed him my bracelet and explained that I had inherited it and didn?t know what it was really worth but that I had been offered $3500 recently for it. David carefully examined it quietly for a few minutes and then looked up at me and asked me if I knew it was an old Tiffany?s piece from the 1920?s. I said no, and that no one had ever mentioned it. Not the other place I had taken it to or my aunt, and that there was no box or paperwork that came with it. David showed me the bracelet under his microscope where it was marked Tiffany & Co. He then showed me an article from a recent Sotheby?s auction where a similar item had sold. David proceeded to tell me that he would pay me $27,000 for it which was about what the similar item sold for at the auction. David didn?t have to tell me about the similar bracelet that had been sold at the auction, he knew what I had been offered before. He could have just offered me $4,000 and I would have taken his offer without looking back. David didn?t take advantage of me when he clearly could have. This is a man who really lives up to his reputation. I would without hesitation, in fact I would urge anyone looking to sell their jewelry to take it to David Boggess. It?s rare today to find someone with such moral character, and it is refreshing to know there are still people out there that do the right thing.
