Truly The Best ! 10/21/2010

When I say our dog is spoiled that is an understatement. Just to give you an idea of how we love to pamper our greyhound baby please consider the following: -his first birthday with us was spent at the Ritz Carlton in NYC and he had a full bithday party -he and my husband were featured on Money Magazine's TV segment on dog owners who go over the top Needless to say - there is nothing we would not do to make our grey baby's retirement the best life ever. We love him as our child and we are very very careful where we board him. I really have to say that this place is truly like a doggie vacation spot. It is not just kitchy advertising - it really is a doggie hotel. The staff is extremely loving and attentive and they take any and all special instructions and needs without blinking an eye. The facility is extremely clean and pretty. Our guy has tried all three of the rooms and they are all equally nice. The villa is a huge room (his had a window) with a huge bed for lounging. The luxury suites are in a large sunlit room with individual stalls and tv's. The regular rooms are very large individual bins, also with natural sunlight. There is a large back yard for play and walks. The doggies are walked at least 3 times per day. They are finishing an indoor facility for winter play. Also, when you order play time the dogs are not rushed in and out. We called one morning to see if our baby had been groomed so we could pick him up. We were told, "Oh yes, he is actually out back sunbathing right now. He was out playing and then decided to rest for a while" I knew that was the truth because that is exactly what he likes to do at home. A half hour later we went to get him and he was just coming in from the play area looking relaxed and very happy. ALSO the facility is staffed 24 hours a day. That has been a huge relief for us. I have never been comfortable with the doggies being left alone all evening. I was once at another facility and a dog took ill during the night and no one discovered it until the morning. Since then I have refused to board our guy. It has been great to find a 24 hour place. Our guy has huge separation anxiety and the staff has really taken special time with him. After the last stay, although he was happy to see us, he looked like he was ready to stay for a bit. In fact he tried to make my husband take him back to the yard again for a walk. The sure sign that he is fine is when he eats all of his food. It took him 3 stays to really get used to the Pet Hotel but I am pleased to say that during his last visit he ate every morsel. more
