I never blame the vet, per se for the death of a cat, so our many, many cats and one dog were treated, sometimes properly diagnosed, sometimes died from mysterious causes but it was still a good place to go and we travelled a ways to use them. I loved the staff AND the vets. Last time we went, April 2009, for a well cat checkup for our 14+ y.o. FIV positive cat, the technician went through a preprinted form of tests for senior cats which would have resulted in a $750 charge for AN ANNUAL CHECKUP! He wasn't sick. Some of the tests were counterindicated for FIV positive cats. I asked about this and she said to ask the vet. Well, the vet "talked us into" about $350 in tests and then a multple tooth extraction procedure, but she didn't catch something we found out two months later: That he had advanced lymphoma. If they hadn't taken all that blood and pretended to be so thorough, I wouldn't expect to find out more at a well cat visit. OH, YEA: He was losing weight steadily that l
