I was in MN visiting my family from NY & couldn't fly my 57 lb pup Gracie on Northwest back to NY (they have a policy that they will not allow pets in the cargo hold when it is 10 degrees or below) So, I changed her to fly on Continental (better heated cargo or something) -anyway- I was stressed enough that it was a connection thru Houston (!!!), Continental does not allow sedatives (I didn't want my baby to be scared, of course), and they had to have a health certificate *within 10 days* which I did not have- the animal hospital a few blocks from my parents' house was booked solid & I was starting to freak out, then my Mom suggested I call Suburban Animal Hospital, where she & my sister bring their dogs- they got me in first thing, the same morning I called (the day before we left!). The vet is Becky Bohlmann- she is so gentle & awesome & wonderful with animals- Gracie LOVED her! She was even sweet to Gracie after she refused Dr. Bohlmann's kind offer of treats (Gracie's real picky). 5 STARS to Becky & her staff, especially for understanding that I was so relieved to have gotten the certificate that I started to sail out without paying!
