I brought my shoes to the Squirrel Hill Shoe Repair on Murray Ave in January 2010 - one boot had a zipper that missed the little ""puller"" (zipper was not broken), the other pair was my favorite 8-year old pair of dress shoes that had holes in the soles, the heels needed to be renewed, the buckles of the straps were merely attached with one string of yarn... I believed this was their time to go on to another world... However, the Squirrel Hill Shoe Repair shop did not even frown on those shoes and returned them in almost new condition half a week later! I am so happy that I tried to let them repair - they did an excellent job. With the boot, I had to convince them to even take them on, and I was surprised that they wanted to reject to repair the zipper. I believe that they thought the zipper itself was broken and they cannot completely renew the whole thing. In the end they took them on and re-attached a leather-puller, which is different than the metal-puller that used to be there. But it works and is very well done. Last but not least - they polished the shoes so that they looked like new! I would always recommend the shop and will bring my shoes again.
