I inherited a service contract that was for a certain number of visits (not a chronological contract) in 2006. I had not used all the maintenance visits. This contract was to have No Charge diagnostics and 50% discounted parts and labor as well. I had Bayside install new Compressor and Air Handler in 2005. August 2009 (on a Saturday) the compressor went bad. The owner attempted to charge me for a diagnostic fee in addition to $900 in labor to replace a WARRANTIED compressor. When I reminded him about the contract, he told me that they did not honor them any longer and if I didn't like it too bad! When I refused to have them install the unit and asked to pick it up, he refused to release it to me or even another authorized a/c contractor! I had to call another company and they only charged me $600 to install on a Saturday without a contract!! They reviewed all my charges that I have paid with BAyside and showed me their pricelist...Progressive Air is 30-40% LOWER ON ALL PARTS AND LABOR ACROSS THE BOARD! I will TELL EVERYONE I KNOW HOW BADLY BAYSIDE TREATED ME AFTER 5 YEARS OF LOYALTY!!! Pros: Technicians are professional and courteous Cons: Owner wont stand behind their work or warranties!!! more
