I was in a bind for my mother's 25th anniversary cake and found Merry's online. She promised everything would be as I asked for. My parents were renewing their vows, so I called to confirm everything a few days prior to the celebration and one of her associates did so for me.\r
The 3 stacked cake arrived unassembled and the flowers they told us to leave out so they could decorate were never touched. We had to try and put the cake together ourselves and decorate it 15 minutes before the ceremony! The icing on the cake is that the filling was wrong too!\r
I left 2 frantic messages and heard nothing back. I then called two days later and Merry herself said she got my message but never called me back. I do not normally fly off the handle, but I was appauled when she said ""many people assemble their own cakes...it's easy"". I said this was not our agreement over the phone and she told me I have nothing in writing and basically had no leg to stand on. This is where I lost it. I advised her I would be calling my CC company and would be reporting her poor business practices and hung up. She called back 2x harrassing me...apparently doesn't mind calling back now, and also left a voicemail saying she is telling every vendor she knows not to use me for anything...pretty stupid since I am the customer, not a vendor. She also said I didn't return the cake so I will not receive any money back. This was so upsetting and I never thought a sweet little baker could be such a manipulative liar. I will NEVER use her again and will be fighting for my money back.
