We were heading to Rhinebeck, N.Y., from Farmington, Conn., and wanted to load up on a good breakfast or brunch. We scanned some reviews and almost settled on the Collins diner before noting the less-than-stellar reviews it received. We headed west on Route 44 and decided to try out luck. When we saw the packed parking lot at the Log House, we thought, ""This must be the place."" What a find! Biscuits and gravy, three kinds of potatoes, superb scrambled eggs, waffles, tons of fresh fruit and juice. They had it all ... and for $8 for an all-you-can-eat ticket to the goodness.
Pros: Tons of fresh, tasty food
