My cat Critter was suffering from extreme anemia when I brought her in on a Saturday afternoon. The front desk staff rushed her back and when the nurse came out, the news was not good. Her chances of survival were minimal. I sent them back with a mandate to ""save the cat"". When I went to the car, the nurse came rushing out and was visibly upset. She rushed me back in because Critter had coded while they were setting up her IV and they had given CPR to bring her back. They stabilized her while I was with her and began a transfusion.
