The reason the Tow Company is a con is mainly due to the time that it took them to get to the house (2 hours)... which might have been influenced by traffic.... I don't know.
Anywhom, I went to Firestone to see if they knew who would be a good transmission company, and the General Manager of Firestone pointed me to Phil.
I drove down to the Cottman Store, who's sign was Clearly visible from a great distance away, helping a Very nervous me locate the store. I parked in the back and walked into the back office, where Phil gladly met me and shoke my hand. He then had me follow him to the front desk.
Upon entering the Front Office, he promptly started out the conversation with "would you like a bottle of water?" I'll be quite honest, I was Flabbergasted that any company let alone the boss would offer me a bottle of water. I then told him of my situation and he informed me of what he would be able to assist me with. He then mentioned his ability to get a towing company over to the house to pick up the vehicle and have it towed to the store for a 21 point inspection for Free, then he would call me and let me know what the situation was.
I can say that Phil truly made me feel welcome to his shop and was glad that I was there. His Sales Manager, Brad, came out and took my information and informed me that he would start making the calls and ball rolling on the job.
I'll let you know what happens from there.......
