My wife and I purposely chose this location, because of the indoor waterpark, that it advertises. We checked in at 3pm, on a saturday afternoon, and were given a handicapped access room, which we did'nt want, and were told that the waterpark was open till 10pm. We went about our plans in Perrysburg, OH, and Dundee MI, and came back around 7:30pm. We called down to the waterpark, and were told there is no pro-rating of the pricing, even though we would only be swimming for an hour or so, it would still be 17.95, which we thought was outrageous, being that we're already paying 100.00 for a room we did'nt want. We checked they're website, which had said ammenities included, a pool, and jacuzzi, but when we called the desk and asked about that, they said, no, that is the waterpark. False, deceptive advertising. We then called back down to the waterpark, to double check the pricing, and then we were told it was 19.95. We were so set on going to this, that we finally decided to pay the price, and that way, we could at leaste enjoy something. When we went down at 8:30, then they told us they're closing at 9pm. We then asked about they're gameroom, they advertised, and they said that is closed! We were furious. My wife went to take a shower, and the shower curtain was moldy, yes, moldy! Our room had no dresser for clothes. And what's more, about 11:30 at night, i was awoken by noisy clammoring and riff raff from above our room. I gave it nearly 30mins, before going down to the front desk, and complaining that we could'nt sleep for all the noise. While I was down there, all sorts of colledge aged kids were coming in, with cases of beer, and bottles of booze, while the police are standing there. I mean, this is supposed to be Holiday Inn, not some cheap, party motel! It took about another half hour for the noise to stop, so we could go to sleep. In the morning, when we checked out, we told the desk, how disgusted we were with everything, and they said, there is nothing they can do about the price, since we had booked thru expedia. This really infuriated me, because despite who it was booked thru, this hotel is responsible for they're actions and all the shortcomings of they're property and services. The woman at the desk gave us passes for the waterpark, which of course, was posted in the elevator, to be open from 11 to 4pm, that day. I told her the passes were worthless, because we were from out of town, and had no plans of coming back to Toledo anytime soon. She gave us the passes anyway. We purposley finished up at the Toledo Zoo, so we could rush back, and at leaste get in a hour or so, with those passes, before they closed at 4. We got there at 2:15, and went to the waterpark desk, and they said, oh, we're closing at 3pm! I went straight to the elevator flyer, that they had posted, and double checked it, and it said 4pm! I went to the desk and told the woman how infuriated we were, and she lied right to my face, telling me that she had told us it was 3! NONSENSE! She never told me this, and was so ignorant, she never asked me for the room keys, and i had to take those back in when we had first checked out. So after trying to go to the indoor waterpark for nearly 24hrs, we never did get to go. What a waste, and horrible excuse for a hotel. I would not reccomend it to ANYONE! We could have went to a much cheaper hotel, and at leaste gotten a regular pool or hot tub. We checked into Kalahari Waterpark Resorts, in Sandusky, Ohio, and will be visiting them. Maybe at a REAL waterpark hotel, we can actually do some swimming! -Tom.
