I saw an ad placed by ""The Car Shack"" for a Camry for $9700 on Carscom. I confirmed the price on the phone before I went to the lot. (I'd seen a review of ""The Car Shack"" on another site by an unfortunate customer of theirs complaining that they boosted a previously agreed upon car price by $3500. I decided to give them a shot anyway.) When I got to their lot I was told I had to put $3000 down on the car. I told them that was not a problem because I was going to pay cash for it anyway. They asked me what I thought the price of the car was. I quoted them the $9700 listed price, (which I had previously confirmed over the phone. This was the same car listed on Carscom because the VIN# checked out). They then came up with some ludicrous response that the $3000 down payment was a charge IN ADDITION to the $9700 Carscom price (huh?)!!! In other words, the car's price was now $12700!!! This confirmed that the previous review of their shady dealings was not a misunderstanding. Unlike the schmuck who allowed them to weasle out an extra $3500 over their agreed-to price, I walked out, and am doing my best to expose them to potential customers. People...if a car seller pulls a fast one on you, just walk out. Please don't encourage their unethical practices by allowing them to get away with this sh*t.
Cons: They engage in unethical business practices!!!
