Crooks who should not be in business 8/14/2009

I purchased tile from Pawlack's to remodel a bathroom. I put the charges on my VISA card. Nearly a month later, Pawlack's put another $500.00+ on my card without my knowledge. I noticed the charge the day after it was posted and called them immediately. They agreed that the charge was not valid or authorized and told me that the charge would be removed. I called several days later, because the charge was still showing on my card. They said that the only person who could remove the charge was the person who had put the charge on my card and she wasn't in. I called several days later and was told that all of the paperwork had been sent to accounts receivable. Several days later, I called again and was told that the person who was in accounts receivable was pregnant, my not be coming back and my paperwork may have been misplaced. I ask who was going to start taking care of the paperwork and was told that I needed to call and ask for Carol. I waited another few days, called and asked for Carol and was told that she was not in and they didn't know when she would be in. It has been over 2 weeks - -the money has not been returned, no one from Pawlack's had tried to contact me or apologize. The charge had to be deliberate, so I wonder how that type of thing occurs. Do they just pull customer files and make bogus charges? I was putting a lot of charges on my card at the time, in conjuction with the remodel. What if I hadn't noticed? Would I just be out $500? They indicate on their site that they have good customer service- - what a joke. At the very least, they seem to beinvolved in fraud/theft of some kind. more
